ABOUT MY BLANKS The Rod Shop in the Catskills. I work alone; all products are produced by my two hands. Blanks are limited by my production time. There is no catalog, you must call for availability.
Blanks in the string are straightened,
but will need more straightening. They still have the binding string on them, the
glue and bark must be sanded off.
Blanks that are ferruled will have been
sanded smooth and polished. The ferrules are mounted and then fitted.
The Tip Top is installed and the Blank marked for guide side.
The blank is straightened.
The tips are all mirrored and the node pattern is three- around.
Light or natural cane has been tempered but not darkened and is a light straw color.
Open-flamed blanks are flamed to a rich brown color with amber colored nodes. An instruction sheet is included with each set of blanks. You may call me anytime from 8 A.M. till 10 P.M., 7 Days a week for help in finishing your rod. A special phone number will be included with your blank. There is no charge for this and you can call as often as needed.
With a few hours handwork, you can transform your blanks into a graceful fishing tool like this Ron Kusse Black Troll. (shown below)
