Catskill
The Catskill rods are similar to rods that Ron made when he was
Vice President of H.L. Leonard Rod Company.They are delicate in appearance, light in weight, yet are superior casting rods.
The special stripping guide is a beautiful amber agate, the rest of
the guides are industrial chrome over stainless. Catskill rods have
a butternut or maple reelseat. Other hardwoods available on
request. The bright nickel silver hardware is jewelry grade and
has a delicate cigar-shape Catskill grip. All rods are two tip
and come with a poplin rod sack with aluminum case and Ron Kusse
gold and black logo lapel or hat badge.
Catskill Special
The Catskill Special is basically the same as the Catskill except the rod
shaft is open flamed to a rich brown with amber highlights at the nodes.
They are wound the same as the Catskills with clear winds and delicate red
tipping. All hardware is acid blued black. All rods are two tip and come
with a poplin rod sack and aluminum case with Ron Kusse gold and black
lapel or hat badge.
Guides: Bright chrome; Catskill Special acid blued black . Winds: Transparent with red accents. Ferrules and Hardware: Special nickle silver fittings, agate stipping guide. Reel Seat: Cap and Band - Stamped into the nickel-silver butt cap 'Ron Kusse Maker,' and 'Catskill.' Butternut or maple reel seat. Cane Finish: Bright varnish finish. Rod Sack: Sailcloth with support stick. Linen Tag: Attached to rod sack with specifications. Case: Aluminum with 'Ron Kusse' logo. Black and Gold 'Ron Kusse' lapel pin included.

The Catskill and Catskill Special are available in all the sizes and
line weights that I make. The Catkill series has very light color
cane and is wound with a special beige transparent silk. Each
winding is tipped in very fine red silk, with delicate red accents
at the ferrules and tip top.
