[Phillipine Mahogany Reelseat with Nickel Silver Hardware all made in my shop. Attached to the quality sail cloth rod sack is a linen tag with the rods' pertinent information. The black powdered enamel finish has brass ends with my logo and functionaly knurling.] Ron Kusse Graphite Rods My first experience with Graphite was in 1973 where I was Vice President of H.L. Leonard Rod Company. At that time, the graphite rods we made, cast very well, but the 80% breakage was hard to work with. Since then, graphite has come a long way, and I have stayed involved with the newest innovations. My current graphite rods are made with American designed blanks that are manufactured in the USA. These IM6 blanks are 43,000,000 modulus and are super sensitive. They can carry a very high line speed, with absolute accuracy. These are truly Tournament Grade Rods.
My rods are made somewhat different than other graphite rods. I use no pre-formed
grips or reelseats. Grips and reelseats are formed on the rod. The nickel
silver buttcap, ring, and winding check, are all made by me in my shop. An important
aspect of my graphite rods, is each ferrule is reinforced with a hand fitted Nickel Silver
ring that absolutely eliminates stress cracks or stretching at the ferrule; a major cause
of graphite rod failure. This is a time consuming extra, but well worth it. Each rod comes with a black powdered
enamel case with brass ends. My logo is stamped into the cap bordered by handsome
and functional knurling. The durable sail cloth rod sack is hand sewn, and has a
linen tag with pertinent information attached. My gold and black hat or lapel badge,
and full guarantee is included. The very best quality, but at very competitive prices. Ask for graphite brochure or call me.

The Standard Series Rods are the heart of fly fishing. The combination of length and line weight make them suitable for any brook, stream or river. They will all make easy, accurate, short casts; and every one has the ability to cast 100 ft. or more. Now we all know you can't fish at 100 ft., but it takes the same energy to cast 40 ft. into the wind, and positively turn your leader and fly over. These rods are the most forgiving graphite rods I have ever cast. |

If you fly, ride horseback, ride a motorcycle or bicycle, have a sports car, or just want to have a short rod tube; the travel series is for you. These rods do everything the standard series does, but for some, just a bit more convenient. All ferrules are nickel silver reinforced. |

These rods are for the more experienced angler. They are very accurate, and have the ability to cast very close, yet can reach out if you want. The fun part is, all trout, large are small, are exciting to play on these light line rods. |

These rods are made for tournament casting dry fly accuracy, trout fly accuracy, bass bug, and distance. They have Nickel Silver screwlock reelseats and slightly larger grips. Although you sure can fish with these, they have the little extras that make them tournament grade. They are made by a tournament caster who knows what they should be. You must call me to discuss what your needs are: length, action, grip size, stripping guide, placement, guide size, etc. Tournament rods are made only after a phone discussion. All rods are plainly labeled "Tournament."
